Week 17 - Covid - Covid - Covid

This is an old car that Clay found while he was out doing some service.

Clay and Elder Sheffer.  Elder Sheffer is from Arizona.  He is in Clay's district and Clay has really gotten to like this young man.

Just when you think Clay's mission can't get any stricter due to Covid, it does.  Clay said that a missionary in Minnesota got exposed to someone that tested positive.  The mission president put everyone on a 2 week quarantine.   Transfers are in 2 weeks so they want to try and contain it and make sure the missionaries can't make the problem worse during transfers.

Last week Clay was telling us that he was hoping to get transferred this next round but he was singing a different tune this week.  I loved what he said about it this time.

He said, I don't think I want to get transferred this time.  I asked why.  He said he would like to be in the same area where he knew people for the Holidays but he is also hoping that he would get a brand new missionary as a companion this transfer.  I asked why he was hoping for that.  He said, because I think I'm really good at making new Missionaries feel comfortable and making them feel happy.

I love this SO MUCH!   Because this is so true.  Clay has always been so good at making everyone around him feel accepted and make them feel happy.  It's something we miss so much here.  Maybe that is Clay's job right now on his mission.  To help keep all those missionaries spirits high, to help them make it through this hard time. .  I just love that boy.
